Storm is the environment in which we either lose our lives or are saved; there's no cool safe ledge on which to perch as spectators.
Warnings of hurricane or tornado can send those in the pathway of the coming storm into a panic. The whirlwind can bring an uncontrollable influx of water, destructive winds and produces frenzied preparation to minimize damage. Every life in the path of the storm is impacted as the devastation can take years to clean up, or even leave a permanent wasteland.
Preparation in the days preceding a storm is the key to minimizing damage and may even help us to survive the torrent. When we live in a storm zone, constant readiness ought to be the norm, and in God’s economy, we should adopt a similar habit.
For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You In a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters They shall not come near him. You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.
What we cling to in a storm reveals where we place our hope. And be not mistaken, we must cling to something.
